“Above all, don't fear difficult moments. The best comes from them.”

(I am happy to tell you the story behind this picture in our interview.)

The scope of our theses lies at the convergence of artificial intelligence, ubiquitous computing, and clinical research. Theses are usually independent work packages that are part of a larger project. To get an overview, please browse over to our projects tab. We offer theses in a wide range of focus areas among others:

  • Application of statistical methods (e.g., Deep and Machine Learning) to physiological, behavioral, and/or environmental data
  • Developing of software applications for consumer-centric devices (e.g., smartphones and smartwatches) to enable data collection
  • Building of prototypes (e.g., involving single-board computers such as Raspberry Pi or Jetson Nano) to demonstrate feasibility
  • Conducting of systematic literature reviews to identify relevant research gaps
In addition, we have a strong application-oriented mindset, which we believe is important in bridging the gap between research and clinical practice.

In case you are interested, please check out the Open Positions below or send your unsolicited application (i.e., transcripts and CV) to us (fbarata@ethz.ch).
